Hometown Humanities

Kansans know that stories move us and shape us, and that's why telling Kansas stories is the focus of so much of what we do. It's also why our resources are in high demand. Last year KHC supported 788 humanities events in 127 communities and worked with 197 organizations.

As we welcome a new year filled with new stories, please consider a donation to KHC.

The Kansas Humanities Council is the only organization in Kansas solely dedicated to creating, supporting, and promoting the humanities as a public resource for all Kansans. Since 1972, KHC has been a partner and advocate for the cultural life of the state.

To fulfill our commitment to the people of Kansas, KHC relies on the generous contributions of individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Your financial contribution supports more hometown humanities events in 2017: book and film discussions, presentations that examine Kansas history, local history projects that preserve one-of-a-kind stories, a unique partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, events with the Poet Laureate of Kansas, capacity-building efforts like the Fundraising Bootcamp, and special projects like the Pulitzer Project in Kansas.

Donations to KHC are tax-deductible and include a subscription to the Humanities newsletter and invitations to special events.
